  1. I ordered this product because I was having dampness issues in my garage. I bought this one because it was well-reviewed, in my price range, and relatively small.

I’ve been using it continuously for many months, and it has performed flawlessly. I use the humidity-based option, which allows me to make sure my garage is never too damp while at the same time not running the dehumidifier constantly – it runs only when it needs to, and it seems to keep it in the humidity range that I specify.

One of my favorite features (having owned a few dehumidifiers) is that the dehumidifier can be transformed to use with a hose (so you don’t need to keep emptying it) and back to using the built-in bucket by simply removing and replacing a plug. Many dehumidifiers force you to drill holes or otherwise permanently alter the product to use it with a hose, and this one makes it a trivial and quick change (both ways).

Energy use seems to be minimal for a dehumidifier (they all suck a lot of energy, but this one seems relatively miserly). I recommend it without reservation.

  2. I’ve been using this for a couple of months and it seems to work more efficiently—and certainly quieter–than our old dehumidifier. It has an air filter, which many dehumidifiers don’t, which means it won’t lose efficiency over time as dust collects in the condenser coils.
